Acting locally to effect national change
We are a small, growing coalition of citizens who came together in October 2020 to protect the election and defend democracy using peaceful, strategic civil-resistance action. This website curates a variety of resources—organizations, toolkits, articles, and online libraries—devoted to democracy defense and social justice. Our newsletter (published through Substack and previously a blog), 3.5%, focuses on specific actions one can take and highlights important resources and information.
Our members have:
Participated in get-out-the-vote phone banks
Assisted voters at the polls
Supported legislative initiatives that protect elections and strengthen democracy
Praised democracy heroes and protested democracy villains
Written letters to elected officials urging their support of a speedy presidential transition
Launched and participated in get-out-the-vote and democracy-hero postcard-writing campaigns
Broadcast news of fundraising efforts, democracy-related programming, and other initiatives aimed at protecting elections and civic discourse
Curated statewide and national resources for democracy-defense activists everywhere
