So Many Organizations, So Little Time

As a result of reading a New Yorker article, my wife and I joined Hold the Line in October. We learned about the myriad grassroots movements centered around election protection and democracy defense. These organizations informally coordinate and leverage each other's work without pride of ownership to focus on affecting real change. They comprise ordinary citizens like us who now realize that it is not enough to vote every four years. Like healthy relationships, healthy democracy requires all of us to invest our precious time and energy to make it work.

These organizations represent substantial infrastructure and expertise. Some have been active for three years, others for thirty.  We surveyed the landscape of these organizations, their key issues, their influence, their reach, and their approach. We suggest that Hold the Line members cross-join some of these organization so that we can work together on the goals of common interest.

This spreadsheet marks the beginning of this survey.  I expect it to grow and expand as new groups form and as we learn about others. This list starts with the partners of Protect the Results, a joint project of Indivisible and Stand Up America; the list provides links to websites and extracts key features of each that will help us to determine with whom to most effectively partner.
